Taxation and IRS Representation
Tax Preparation
Ross & Company, PLLC, can save you the maximum amount of tax allowable
by law. Our founder, Bob Ross, is a former IRS agent who has been on
the IRS side of the auditor's desk trying to catch taxpayer fraud and
increase tax owed. He knows what the IRS allows and disallows and
what items raise a red flag. Our clients include individuals and
businesses from all over the United States.
New or returning clients needing to file an
individual tax return may download an organizer for tax year 2005.
The organizer should take less than two minutes to download. Mail
the completed organizer, along with your W-2(s) (and any other information
you may feel is relevant) to us at:

If you need help completing the organizer,
or would prefer to schedule an appointment, call us at (502) 499-9088.
Negotiating Settlements
and Installment Agreements
For eight years, Bob Ross was himself an IRS agent. In that time, he
performed audits of individual, corporate, partnership, estate, gift, and
fiduciary tax returns. His audit skills earned him several awards
for fraud referrals to the Criminal Investigation Division. When he left
the IRS, he took with him a distinct knowledge of the Agency and its
operations. This knowledge allows him to maneuver through the maze of the
tax code and get his clients the tax advantages they deserve and represent
them in the most effective and efficient manner. As penitence for the pain
and suffering he inflicted as an auditor, he has devoted a great part of
his private practice to helping taxpayers through this maze. Our
clients have come from virtually all 50 states and foreign countries,
resident and nonresident aliens who have received threatening letters from
the IRS, state and local governments.
If you owe taxes, we know how
to negotiate your payment to the IRS. We negotiate a one time
settlement of the tax, called an Offer In Compromise. You pay the
negotiated amount owed and those taxes are gone forever. If the IRS
won't settle your account, we negotiate an acceptable installment
agreement. To help us in negotiations, click on the applicable IRS
form below. Download or print out the form, complete it, and mail or
fax it to us (if you are self-employed, you will need to complete both
forms). You will need the free Adobe
Acrobat Reader to download the forms:
One of the biggest mistakes
you can make in an audit is to represent yourself. We represent only
the items on the tax return, not your social or personal lifestyle.
The IRS agents are notorious for asking probing questions that may open up
more avenues for them to collect additional tax. We answer only the
questions asked about the return and do not allow the IRS to "fish
around." If adjustments are found, we negotiate the adjustments
for you. Unless there are questions we just cannot answer, you will
not speak to IRS agents and collectors.
Before the IRS will talk to
us, we must get written permission from you to negotiate on your behalf.
To do this, we need you to complete a power of attorney, IRS Form
2848. This allows us to talk to the IRS on your behalf. Each
taxpayer listed on the return must sign the Form 2848. Mail the
completed form with your original signature to us.
